Adult Day Care
Adult Day Care Services are group programs designed to meet the needs of functionally and/or cognitively impaired elderly and disabled adults.
Adult Day Care programs provide a variety of health and social related senior support services in a protective environment. Most adult day care programs operate during normal business hours, five days a week.
However, some programs may offer services for seniors, elderly, and disabled adults in the evenings and on weekends.

Assisted Living
Assisted Living Facilities (ALF's) in Florida provide a variety of services for clients depending on their needs. Assisted Living Facilities are for individuals who do not need the intensity of a skilled nursing facility but may need help wih their daily activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility and transferring, and medication reminders.
An assisted living facility may offer a variety of living arrangements such as shared rooms, private rooms, and small apartments furnished or unfurnished.
Always find out if the facility you are learning about provides the services that will meet your needs.

Retirement Communities
Florida Retirement communities vary widely in housing and services they offer. A community may be apartment/condos that offer meals and daily activities for the active senior on a seasonal basis, or they may be gated commnuities that offer homes with golf courses, pools, and other amenities.
Some communities offer a wide range of services including indpendent living arrangements, assisted living services, and a skilled nursing facility on site. Some retirement communities are accredited by the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CCAC).
